STARTLING PHOTOS OF JAPAN DISASTER..BEFORE & AFTER

Linden Labs in Second Life is selling Teddy Bears for 300L, 1000L and 3000L for the Japan Earthquake Victims. The money goes directly to Donation Linden to the Red Cross for recovery efforts. You can buy them right on SL Marketplace JUST BY CLICKING HERE.

I don't usually do charity stuff or much about the news unless it relates to my SL. And this disaster did touch my SL.  I was so happy to hear my friend Midori Rotaru, the genius owner of the Koncept club and one of the greatest builders ever and a totally fun person, got word to friends in SL that she is safe. There was no word on her family yet. We hope they are safe too.

To get an idea of the destruction this 9.0 quake and sunami caused, here are two satellite photos of the same area before and after the quake.

Once again, that link to donate to the Red Cross through SL is right here at RELIEF BEAR FROM LINDEN LABS FOR JAPAN DISASTER!!!

Japan

Flag of the Red CrossImage via Wikipedia     It's only March & yet the world has changed so dramatically this year. Dictators have been overthrown & some are in the process of being overthrown. Now, Japan has gone through a mega disaster. It's not enough to just have one of the largest earthquakes in history. It also had one of the largest tsunamis & now nuclear plants are beginning to (hopefully not) go into meltdown. Oh yeah, it's still winter there so add hypothermia to the mix. The only disasters that Japan hasn't had in the past couple of days are tornadoes & hurricanes. My prayers go out to the Japanese people. They are such good & smart people & I know they'll get through this with everyone's help.
If you can, please give to the Red Cross or Red Crescent in your country. You can also find out more ways to help through Twitter & Facebook (there's actually good use for those other than saying what you had for dinner, complete with photo). For coverage online, UStream.com has streaming coverage of one of the Japanese cable news channels: NHK World http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nhk-world-tv.
