Angelica Bella

Angelica Bella was born in Hungary on 24 January 1973. Her move into the world of hard-core porn films took place on 12 August 1991 in Budapest. Nils Molitor had decided to direct two films using sets provided at low cost by Majfilm, the Hungarian national film corporation. He asked a local casting agency to find either a blond or a brunette to use in the movies and was presented with a dozen girls to choose from. One of them was an 18 year-old Hungarian girl named Gabriella. Nils was immediately taken by her, describing her as a cross between Brooke Shields and Jane Seymour, and chose her as the main actress in both films. Adopting the pseudonym Katy Kay, Gabriella was given star billing in her first porn film 'Le Tireur Est En Prison', which she soon followed with 'Esclave Du Sexe Ottomane'.

Gabriella proved she was a natural in front of the camera, lacking any sense of inhibition when it came to anal sex or taking part in double penetrations. She had a voluptuous figure, with beautiful firm natural breasts, and was never averse to a few kinky acts such as fucking herself with a bottle or being fisted. Within two months Nils had invited her to Germany where she appeared in six more of his films. By this point her reputation was beginning to spread, and she soon came to the attention of Belgian director Dino Baumberger, who cast her in his period movie 'Les Secrets De Mozart'. With the assistance of Hungarian based French porn star Christophe Clark she perfected her image, while in Italy she began a long promotional campaign that included photo shoots and public appearances. Her aim was to rival her compatriot Cicciolina.

Angelica's breakthrough occurred in 1992, when she started working with Italian director Double G and starred in 'Eccitazioni Fatali' (1992), with Italian legend Moana Pozzi. By this point she had become one of the best known and most loved Italian based porn stars in Europe. Having conquered the European market she decided to try her luck in the US, where she starred in 'La Femme Du Pecheur', alongside such established names as Tom Byron. Although her US made films were not as good as those she had made in Europe, she nevertheless finished the year by winning the award Hot d'Or for Best Actress at Cannes. Having returned to Europe she continued making porn films for various Italian and German companies, acquiring the nickname 'The Animal' from the film crews because of her passionate performances. When Cicciolina retired in 1992, and Moana died in 1994, Angelica finally found herself not only the most popular porn star in Italy, but also among the top stars in Europe.

During 1997 she began making films almost exclusively for the Italian director Canyon Grande. By this point she had stopped having sex with men in front of the camera, and would only appear in lesbian scenes with fellow Hungarian star, and some have claimed younger sister, Veronica Bella. The other sex scenes in which Angelica appeared were usually past loops or simply cut from her older films.

In 1998 Angelica retired from the porn scene, thereby allowing Veronica to claim her crown in Italy. In 2000, however, she returned to the industry and began working once again with Canyon Grande. Although she was still enthusiastic when it came to sex, Angelica had gained weight and lost the tight voluptuous figure that had originally made her so popular. Her films were of poor quality, and the mere presence of Angelica was no longer enough to compensate. Nevertheless, Angelica Bella, along with Cicciolina and Moana Pozzi, must be considered one of the most successful and popular porn stars to come out of Italy in the last twenty years.
