She had a good career going until she testified in front of U.S. Attorney Ed Meese's Commission on the harmful effects of pornography. At the time, Republicans were using the hot button issue to bolster their image on moral authority. Donovan's testimony effectively ended her career as she was basically blacklisted after that.
