The question I am asked second most often is, "How do I become a porn star in SL?" (By the way, the first most asked question is the always subtle, "Wanna fuck?").
So lets get you started...
One thing you need to know about the SL adult business is that there is NO BUSINESS.
No one is making money off of it. Which means you won't get paid for being in a SL adult film.
In fact, some people even CHARGE for the privilege.

SL Pornstars are mostly people who like the voyeuristic thrill. Most of us secretly fantasize about doing a sex film in RL but know that it can be a little scary to do for real. So this is a fun and exciting way to work out your fantasy. I know I've had multiple orgasms in RL every time the camera has been on my avi :) So if you really want to "get into the business" here in Second Life, here are my suggestions:
1. MAKE SURE YOUR AVATAR IS UP-TO DATE
Have the latest skin and hair. Guys have a penis. And make sure the color matches your skin (one of my biggest turnoffs is an unmatched cock). Ladies, we need to not only look great but we need to be DISTINCTIVE.
2. KNOW HOW TO USE A SEX BED
Directors don't want to have to teach you how to have SL Sex. Figure out which sex poses look right with your avi and your styling.
3. YES, IT CAN BE "TOO BIG"
Ladies, don't pick a hair or clothes that covers your face or your partner. And don't wear anything that makes the animation look unrealistic (fake prim boobs and nipples on Emerald is a killer). Also guys, don't have an erection that is so big it goes through your partner. It doesn't look good on camera when you impale your co-star!
4. KNOW YOUR SL DIRECTORS
You can't make a film without these people. The most active directors are listed on my website. There is a HUGE LIST OF THEM on the right side of the page about halfway down.
Then watch their work. See whose films appeal to you. If you are a lesbian, then doing a hardcore gangbang scene with Ruff Brocco and his crew probably isn't right for you. But you could see that Kathrein Henhouse is.

So get to know these directors names and their styles. Follow their movies on my blog (link is at the end). Go hang out at their place if they own a club (like Ruff Brocco does).
5. SAY "Hi" TO THE DIRECTORS YOU LIKE
If somebody's work excites you, then say hello to that director in an IM or better still, a notecard (because IM's can get blocked). Let them know how much you like their work. And that you want to be in one of their movies. Be polite. Don't demand. Be fun (people like to hang out with fun people). Check back and show a little persistence, BUT DON'T STALK THEM. If you do these things, eventually you will make a movie!
6. JOIN A GOOD SL GROUP
A lot of SL adult pron groups are a waste of time. It's people role playing but not REALLY MAKING films.
But a few of them like Priscila Balogh's group or Aurora Bentham's are really helpful. My group, THE PORNSTARS, holds almost every great SL director working today. And those directors tout their new films and ask for actors and actresses there.

To help you figure out which director is right for you, again, I have a list with links to over 600 SL adult films by director on my blog. (Just scroll down and look to the right and you will see them.)
I hope this helps and you can always IM me in world if you want more tips. Just be polite and know I get a couple IMs like this every day. I try to write back to everyone who is nice.
Finally, here's a fun movie on the subject. It's called, HOW TO BE A SECOND LIFE PORNSTAR
